Salinity council blueprint flawed says ACF

The Australian Conservation Foundation says a proposed national ministerial council
to combat salinity problems will be weak and ineffectual.

The foundation says the proposed council lacks accountability and is unlikely to achieve
outcomes required to tackle salinity and water quality woes.

In a briefing paper, it says the model on which the proposed council is being based is flawed.

Federal, state and territory politicians are expected to sign off on a draft agreement
