Vic: Man seriously injured in trench collapse
A man is in a serious condition in hospital after a trench caved in on him at a constructionsite in Melbourne's north-east.
Ambulance spokesman JAMES HOWE says the man, aged in his 30s, was in the trench whenit collapsed about 12.15pm (AEST).
The building site is on the corner of Waiora Road and Cherry Street, Macleod.
Mr HOWE says the man received serious injuries to the left side of his chest.
He was taken to the Austin hospital in a serious condition.
Police are investigating the accident.
